Says "I will step down this week. I'm getting better. Every day my spirit is high."
WASHINGTON — Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) has announced in a video that she will resign from Congress, just one year after being shot in the head in an attack that wounded 12 and left six dead.
In a verbally halting message, Giffords said " jobs, border security, veterans... we can do so much more by working together," and went on, "I dont remember much from that horrible day, but I will never forget the trust you placed in me. To be your voice."
