Obama's motorcade involved in an accident as a police deputy is thrown from his motorcycle

A local police deputy assisting the Secret Service in the presidential motorcade hit a speed bump.

As it was traveling in Florida today, President Obama’s motorcade was involved in an accident, according to local media reports.

The presidential motorcade was traveling to the Port of Tampa when a Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy among those assisting the Secret Service hit a speed bump and was thrown from his motorcycle, according to Scripps Media.

The motorcade did not stop and continued on to its destination.

Deputy Chad Keen, 37, suffered severe road rash and may have dislocated his shoulder. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital.

BayNews9 reported that Keen, a six-year police veteran, was expected to make a full recovery.
