Two Walmart stores in Kansas received bomb threats on Sunday, prompting police to evacuate the stores and search them for dangerous devices, ABC News reported.

The threats, which occurred in Leavenworth and Lawrence come after at least eight Missouri walmarts received threats. According to KCTV, this brings the total to at least 11 Walmarts of Kansas and Missouri since Friday.

According to WAPI, the call was automated.

Fultz said the voice in the message stated bombs were in the stores, and that many people would die.

"This is not a joke," the voice said.

Police found nothing suspicious, and customers were allowed to return to the store.

Walmart spokesman Dan Fogleman said that Walmart is concerned anytime someone makes a threat that might endanger our customers and associates.

"We're grateful no one was injured," he said in a statement to ABC News. "We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience. We want to make sure everyone stays safe."

ABC17 in Columbia, Missouri, reported on Friday that Walmarts in Jefferson City, Nixa, Ozark, Raytown, Gladstone and Fredericktown were shut down due to bomb threats.
