An estimated 800,000 young undocumented immigrants could qualify for the program, Reuters reported.
Many young immigrants who are illegally in the US, have spent much of their lives living and attending school in the country.
President Barack Obama announced the program in June, which applies those who came to the US before their 16th birthday. They are required to have lived in America at least five years and be under 30. They must either be enrolled in school or have served in the military, the AP wrote.
Anyone convicted of a felony or three misdemeanors will be disqualified.
