Remember when Republicans accused President Barack Obama of trying to kill old people with government-mandated "death panels?" Obama now seems to be getting his revenge. An new ad from a pro-Obama super PAC is accusing Mitt Romney of indirectly killing a woman.

The Priorities USA Action ad features an interview with Joe Soptic, who used to work at a steel plant. In 1998, the plant was purchased by Bain Capital, Romney's former private equity firm. Bain's purchase of the GST Steel plant didn't work out well--GST Steel declared bankruptcy and shut its doors in 2001, the New York Daily News reported

The pro-Obama ad blames Mitt Romney for the plant's bankruptcy, which caused Joe Soptic and other workers to lose their jobs and health insurance. "When Mitt Romney and Bain closed the plant, I lost my health care and my family lost their health care. And a short time after that, my wife became ill," Soptic says in the ad.

"I don't know how long she was sick, and I think maybe she didn't say anything because she knew that we couldn't afford the insurance." You can guess how the story ends: Soptic's wife eventually had to be hospitalized, and doctors found that she had stage four cancer. She died in 2006.

The ad, part of a $20 million ad campaign by Priorities, will air in the battleground states of Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, The Hill reported. Romney’s campaign, meanwhile, has insisted that he was not involved in the decision to close the steel plant, and blasted the ad in a statement to The Hill. Watch a video of the attack ad below:
