Aurora theater: What would you do with it?

GlobalPost

On July 20, 2012, James Eagan Holmes shot and killed 12 people in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. Now, a month later, the city is faced with an impossible question: What to do with the Century 16 multiplex?

In the search for an answer, Auora is asking its residents.

Go to the city's Facebook page and you'll find this:

"Many people have asked what will happen to the theater after the shooting. Now is your chance to share your opinion on what should happen. Please take a few minutes to provide your thoughts at the following link."

Responses to the survey are not public, but comments on the Facebook page range from "Knock it down" to "Just reopen it for God sake if you don't he wins!!!"

The actual survey page, open until Aug. 31, posted this message:

"As Aurora moves forward after the tragedy of July 20, it is our hope that the entire community will participate and benefit from the citywide healing process. Many people have asked about the future of Aurora's Century 16 theater. We want to know your thoughts. Please take a few minutes to tell us your thoughts. These comments will be shared with Cinemark for consideration in their decision making process."

Cinemark Holdings, the Aurora theater owner, declined to comment to the Associated Press.
