Ann Romney's plane makes an emergency landing

The plane carrying Ann Romney, the wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, made an emergency landing in Colorado.

The plane carrying Ann Romney, the wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, made an emergency landing in Denver, Colorado on Friday, CNN reported.

According to the Cable News Network, a Romney aide said the airplane's cabin filled with smoke on its way to Los Angeles.

Ann Romney and her press secretary, Sarah Haley, were among those on board.

Reuters reported everyone was safe, citing a campaign spokesman, and the cause was likely an electrical fire.

Campaign spokesman, Rick Gorka, said Mitt Romney spoke with his wife after she landed while he was campaigning in Las Vegas, Nevada.
