Bomb disposal experts were called to the US Embassy in Stockholm after a strange powder was discovered in a letter.
Authorities were forced to evacuate the US Embassy in Stockholm, and close surrounding streets, after receiving a letter containing an unknown substance, police said.
The Associated Press reported police and bomb disposal experts were called to the embassy on Wednesday morning after an employee became concerned about an unidentified powder in an envelope.
"We've evacuated the embassy while we are investigating a possible security incident," embassy spokesman Jeff Anderson was quoted as saying by Agence France Presse.
Andersen said investigations were continuing into a possible "security incident".
Police declined to release details to the media about the content, but police spokesman Daniel Granstrom told Swedish tabloid Expressen it contained some kind of "powder."
He continued when probed that "it may have been dangerous, but it's not dangerous now."
No one was injured, and no further details were made public.
