Sen. Marco Rubio's 12-year-old daughter has suffered a concussion after a getting into a golf cart accident on Saturday. She is now expected to recover and was released from the Miami Children's Hospital on Sunday night, the Washington Post reported.
The Republican Florida senator was campaigning with Mitt Romney before he found out that his oldest daughter Amanda Rubio had been in an accident and was being airlifted to Miami, Politico reported. Amanda was listed in fair condition today, ABC reported. Rubio was notified about the accident just as he came off the stage during the Romney campaign event. A state police car later took him to Miami.
Romney campaign press secretary Andrea Saul said in a statement to the Miami Herald: “Governor Romney spoke with Senator Rubio and expressed his concern and hope for Amanda Rubio’s quick recovery.” Rubio and his wife have also received calls from President Obama and Vice President Biden, the Herald reported.
