New Jersey Governor Christ Christie put a $37 billion price tag on Superstorm Sandy damage.
Now we might know why New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was being so nice to Obama after Superstorm Sandy hit: New Jersey needs money.
Christie has requested $37 billion from the federal government, BBC News reported. The funds cover Superstorm Sandy repairs and prevention efforts for future storms. The request is larger than the state's entire annual budget of $32 billion.

Christie says that more than 30,000 homes or businesses were demolished or damaged badly by Sandy, the Associated Press reported. His request comes after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo asked for $32 billion in federal aid.
“These are realistic numbers that we need,” Christie told WCBS 880. “We’re embarking on a serious and necessary path and it’s going to require a great deal of federal assistance."
