A man is in custody after a shooting on a Central California Indian reservation that killed three people and wounded four others, including two young girls, authorities said.

FOX reports that a 911 call reporting shots fired brought deputies from the Tulare County sheriff's office to a trailer on the Tule Indian Reservation Saturday night where they found the body of a man and a woman inside. A third body was nearby.

A third victim, a male juvenile, was wounded and taken to a local hospital.

The Fresno Bee identifiedthe suspect in custody as 31-year-old Hector Celaya. Celaya reportedly got into a green Jeep Grand Cherokee with his two daughters, aged 8 and 5.

NBC News reports that a deputy tried to stop the suspect's vehicle but that the driver kept going. The driver eventually stopped on the side of a road and shots were fired between police and the suspect.

Celaya was reportedly shot and transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

NBC also reports that detectives said the suspect had also shot the two children. Authorities told NBC that one child had life-threatening injuries and the other had non-life-threatening injuries.

The reservation where the shooting took place is 50 miles north of Bakersfield, CA.
