While it may be President Obama's day, it's Michelle Obama's outfit that has everyone talking.
Michelle Obama arrived this morning dressed head to (almost) toe in New York designer Thom Browne. The only exception being her shoes, made by one of Michelle's favorite mid-priced clothing stores, J. Crew.
According to Eric Wilson of The New York Times, "Thom Browne's coat and dress for Michelle Obama are both made of silk jacquard based on a necktie fabric, custom made for the First Lady."
Many are expecting the Browne brand to skyrocket after this appearance. According to CNN, "a single appearance by the First Lady in a designer’s clothes is worth $14 million."
The Obama daughters are also making a fashion splash at the ceremonial swearing in. According to the AP, Malia is wearing a J.Crew ensemble, while Sasha picked a higher-priced brand, wearing a Kate Spade coat and dress.
Like Michelle's previous inauguration outfits, this one, along with the accessories, will go to the National Archives following today's events.
