A bus crash in Boston has injured 34 high school students and chaperones from Pennsylvania.
A bus crash in Boston has left 34 Pennsylvania high school students and their chaperones injured after a visit to Harvard University.
The crash occurred as the students were their way back home. The driver attempted to go under an overpass and hit the Western Avenue Bridge near the Harvard campus around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, the Boston Globe reported.
One of the victims has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries; three more are seriously injured, according to Reuters.
Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald said that the impact of the overpass "pushed in the whole front of the roof" and that several of the injured were evacuated through the roof, according to the Globe.
Massachusetts State Police are looking into possible charges against the driver, who did not see a sign which prohibited buses for traveling on that route, according to the Associated Press.
