George Bush Sr.'s e-mail infiltration by a hacker named Guccifer has prompted an investigation.
George Bush Sr.'s private e-mails have been hacked and made public by a hacker named "Guccifer," prompting a federal investigation into the breach.
The stolen e-mails were posted to a website, the Smoking Gun reported late Thursday, and contain personal information about several members of the Bush family, including phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
They also reveal intimate details about former President George H.W. Bush’s recent hospitalization and self-portraits painted by former President George W. Bush, the Hill reported.
As the Smoking Gun wrote, the Bush family was anticipating a possible funeral when the former president was hospitalized:
In a December 26 e-mail to his siblings, George W. Bush wrote that he was 'thinking about eulogy' and solicited stories that best illustrated their father's sweet nature, favorite jokes, and acts of kindness. 'Hopefully I'm jumping the gun,' noted Bush, who added, 'But since the feeling is that you all would rather me speak than bubba, please help.'
"The mention of 'bubba' is apparently a reference to Clinton, whom Bush has referred to as a 'brother' due to his close relationship with George H. W. Bush.
Bush spokesman Jim McGrath confirmed that an investigation into the hacking had begun, but did not give any details, the Houston Chronicle reported.
"We do not comment on matters under criminal investigation," McGrath said.
Meanwhile, the self-portraits painted by the younger Bush, supposedly represented here, have garnered everything from mockery to empathy:

"First of all, in this writer's amateur opinion, it's not bad!" wrote New York Magazine's The Daily Intelligencer.
More impressive than the painting's aesthetic quality is the soul-searching introspection evident in the scene. Bush, slightly hunched, is standing out of the water, staring off into the corner of the shower, as if contemplating past sins that can never be washed away, no matter how much soap you use and how hard you scrub. His disembodied face appears in the shaving mirror, looking back at Bush through an impossible angle, like a haunting apparition. You can't hide from yourself, the face is saying. You can't hide from God.
Of course, the internet has also taken it upon itself to create parodies:
