The Marine Corps has released the names of the three Marines who died in a shooting Thursday night at a base in Quantico, Virginia.

The two Marines allegedly killed by a third were identified Saturday night as Cpl. Jacob Wooley, 23, of Guntown, Mississippi, and Lance Cpl. Sara Castromata, 19, of Oakley, California.

The shooter had been identified as Sgt. Eusebrio Lopez, who opened fire on two of his comrades before shooting himself.

A relationship dispute is believed to have been the cause of the shooting.

CNN noted that the shooting came as the military community mourned seven Marines who died in a training exercise in Nevada on Monday.

The Washington Post cited a news release issued Saturday night as saying that all three of those who died were assigned to the Officer Candidate School and that the incident remained under investigation.

The Post cited Lopez's great-grandfather, 82, also named Eusebio Lopez, as saying the Lopez had served a tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanista, and had been posted to Quantico for about a year.

Castromata joined the Marines about 16 months ago and held three medals while Wooley, who had a deeply religious streak, joined the corps three years ago and held at least five medals, ribbons and commendations.

CBS cited Col. David W. Maxwell, base commander, as saying in a statement:

"We send our prayers and condolences to the families, fellow Marines and friends of the Marines who were lost in this tragic incident. Our priority is to take care of and support all of those who are affected by this loss."
