NEW YORK — Anthony Weiner is vowing to stay the course.

On Tuesday, in a new campaign ad, Weiner reiterated his refusal to quit the race for New York City mayor, despite calls for him to drop out amid his ongoing sexting scandal.

In the minute-long video, Weiner says: “I know that there are newspaper editors, and other politicians that say, ‘Boy, I wish that guy Weiner would quit.’”

But, the former congressman continues: “They don’t know New York, certainly don’t know me. Quit isn't the way we roll in New York City.”

Over the weekend, Weiner's campaign manager resigned.

Meanwhile, a recent Quinnipiac poll shows the Democratic candidate dropped from first to fourth place after admitting he continued to send sexual messages to women after his resignation from Congress in 2011.

His support fell from 26 percent last week to 16 percent.

He now trails City Council Speaker Christine Quinn by 11 percentage points among likely Democratic voters, just weeks before the Sept. 10 primaries.
