NATO: 4 troops dead in Afghanistan

Two attacks in Afghanistan's restive southern and eastern provinces take lives.

NATO today said four coalition troops have died in Afghanistan, reported the Associated Press.

The coalition issued a statement saying two officers were killed by an improvised explosive devices, one in the east on Tuesday and the other in the south today, said AP

The other two died of non-combat injuries, one on Tuesday and the other day, AP said

As is customary, their identities were not revealed.

AP said the announcement brings the number of coalition troops killed in Afghanistan over the past year to a total of 122.

Iran's state-run Press TV also reported the deaths, noting that most of the coalition's 130,000-strong troops are stationed in Afghanistan's east. 

It has been a bloody month in Afghanistan, with a wave of suicide attacks several weeks ago leaving at least 19 people dead
