A roadside bomb has killed 10 people, including eight police officers in Afghanistan's Kandahar province.

According to the BBC, the bomb went off while policemen were attempting to defuse another explosive device in a residential area.

The attack is the third in 24 hours targeting security personnel. According to Reuters, at least twenty police officers have been killed across the country since Saturday, raising concerns of how Afghan-security forces will manage after NATO-led forces withdraw at the end of next year.

Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, Afghan authorities have accused NATO officials for killing three civilians in eastern Logar province. Though NATO has disputed the accusations, claiming that the men were insurgents and that they were killed by Afghan officials.
