Malala Yousafzai, the 14-year-old activist shot by Taliban members, is in stable condition, but her progress over the weekend will be crucial, her doctors said.

“(The) health condition of Malala continues to remain satisfactory. Her vitals are okay and she is still on ventilator,” the military said Saturday, according to Agence France Presse. “A board of doctors is continuously monitoring her condition."

A rally in support of Yousafzai, who along with her father advocated for girls' education rights in Pakistan, is scheduled for Sunday, according to CNN. The crowd is expected to number in the thousands.

"The attack on Malala has made it imperative that this should be done quickly and with full force.
