Nobel Peace Prize: Social media reactions to the EU win

While many political leaders were busy congratulating the EU for its win, Twitter users were busy creating memes and questioning the validity of the Nobel Peace Prize after it was awarded to the group of nations.

It was announced Friday morning that the European Union (EU) has won the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize for helping to transform Europe "from a continent of war to a continent of peace."

The Nobel committee said the EU won the peace prize "for over six decades contribut[ing] to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe."
