Anders Behring Breivik complains coffee is cold, cell is drab

Norway’s notorious mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik says he’s not getting enough butter in prison, his coffee is too cold and he can’t keep moisturizer in his cell, which offers no view.

Such are the complaints of a man serving 21 years in prison for first detonating a bomb, then gunning down dozens of young people last July.

Survivors and family members of those Breivik killed are not sympathetic.

“He is welcome to cry his crocodile tears, but Anders Behring Breivik will never be anything but the coldblooded child-murderer and assassin who took nearly 80 human lives,” survivor Eivind Rindal told a Norwegian newspaper, The Daily Mail reported.

“He should be grateful that he has been convicted in Norway. There are a lot of other countries who would have treated someone who has committed the crimes he has completely different.”

It gets worse, his lawyer said.

The killer, who detonated a bomb in Oslo before gunning down dozens on the island of Utoya dressed as a police officer, wrote his complains in a 27-page letter.

He must rush through his morning routine of shaving and brushing his teeth, handcuffs cut into his wrists, he’s subjected to daily body searches and his correspondence is monitored.

Oh, and the light switch and TV control are outside his cell, BBC reported.

“He is aware that, taken separately, his grievances can seem unimportant, but taken together, they paint a grim picture,” his lawyer, Tord Jordet, told AFP.

“His freedom of speech is being violated. Being deprived of this freedom of expression breaches the constitution and human rights.”

Norway’s prison officials declined to comment on the complaint, but said they would investigate.
