Paris has rolled up its red carpet and canceled its star premiere of “The Dark Knight Rises” after at least 12 people were killed at a Colorado movie theater by a gunman who opened fire on a crowd of moviegoers overnight, reported The Wall Street Journal

The shootings took place around 30 minutes into a midnight showing of the newly released Batman movie in the Denver suburb of Aurora. With at least 12 dead and over 50 wounded, it's the worst such violence seen in the US since a gunman killed 33 people at Virginia Tech university five years ago, reported WSJ

There is no way that Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, or Marion Cotillard will "go out there are talk about the film – this is a time of mourning," the source told The Telegraph

Warner Bros. also issued a statement of sympathy today, saying “the filmmakers are deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident," reported the Hollywood Reporter.
