An Army bomb squad was called to the UK home of a family killed in the French Alps, according to reports.

Neighbors were evacuated and police closed the road around the home of Saad al-Hilli, a British man who along with his wife, mother-in-law and a cyclist were shot and killed in an apparent execution in the French Alps, the BBC reported.

Hilli was shot twice in the head, as was his wife, Iqbal, and a woman that police said was Hilli's mother-in-law.

The Hillis were reportedly on a camping holiday with their two daughters — Zainab, 7, and Zeena, 4 — in Annecy in the French Alps.

The girls survived the attack, although Zainab was severely beaten and shot, while Zeena apparently survived by hiding under the body of her mother.

A passing French cyclist, Sylvain Mollier, was also killed.

CNN cited a French prosecutor as calling the attacks — which French authorities said bore the hallmarks of a contract killing — an act of "unheard-of savagery."

Meanwhile, according to the Guardian, citing police, Surrey police were evacuating homes near the Hillis' 1.5 million pound mock Tudor home in the village of Claygate after "items" were found.

A bomb disposal team was seen at the property on Monday.

In a short statement, the police said: "Surrey police can confirm that due to concerns around items found at the address in Oaken Lane in Claygate, officers have extended the cordon surrounding the property.

"Neighbors in the immediate area are being temporarily evacuated and we will provide more information when we have it."

Meanwhile, Zainab Hilli had been brought out of a coma.
