Edith Bouvier, French freelance journalist, in critical condition in Syria

A young French freelance journalist who survived a deadly assault on a makeshift media center in Homs, Syria, today is reportedly in critical condition.
Edith Bouvier, 31, needs urgent medical care or will be at risk of bleeding to death, an advocacy group has told Reuters.

"There is a high risk she will bleed to death without urgent medical attention," according to a member of Avaaz, which has been working inside Syria. "We are desperately trying to get her out, doing all we can in extremely perilous circumstances."
Bouvier was one of five journalists caught up in an assault earlier today by Syrian security forces in Homs, Reuters stated. The assault killed veteran American foreign correspondent Marie Colvin and French photographer Rémi Ochlik. In a separate attack a day earlier, a Syrian video blogger, Rami el-Sayed, was also killed.
The New York Times reported that the media center may have been targeted by Syrian forces, which could have detected satellite signals.
The journalists were among the more than 80 people killed in Homs today, the Times stated.
