Ahmadinejad wants to meet with Occupy Wall Street, but the feeling isn't mutual

Only problem is that Occupy Wall Street says that it's not true and that they have no interest in meeting the Iranian president.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is set to meet with Occupy Wall Street demonstrators this week, reported Iran's Fars News agency Monday.

The only problem is that Occupy Wall Street says they have no plans to meet, or interest in meeting, the Iranian president.

Occupy Wall Street is angered over the news that the parties might meet and said that it has been trying to correct the statement.

"I've been trying to reach someone from Fars to ask them who they are talking about. Anyone going is doing so as an individual," said Occupy Wall Street spokesperson Dana Balicki, according to New York magazine.

"There is no organized effort on behalf of OWS to meet with Ahmadinejad. This smells like a propaganda effort to me."

The Fars News "report" claims that Ahmadinejad seeks to connect with real Americans, yet pro-Zionist lobbies have stood in his way.

The report reads:  "Ahmadinejad is also set to meet American university students, artists, intellectuals and elites, including Occupy Wall Street anti-capitalist protestors, despite the ongoing efforts made by the pro-Zionist lobbies to prevent direct link between American people and the Iranian president."

The Fars article was immediately picked up by right-wing American news agencies as further proof that OWS and Iran were working together.

The Blaze even went so far as to say that the meeting would vindicate predictions by right-wing talk show host Glenn Beck who has previously stated that Iran and Occupy Wall Street were in cahoots.

GlobalPost reported that this is the Iranian president's seventh and last visit to New York for the UN General Assembly meeting.

Ahmadinejad will address the UN General Assembly on Wednesday and will be interviewed by CNN, CBS and Russia Today (RT) this week.
