At least 13 killed in attacks on Sunni mosques in Iraq

Sunni mosques were targeted in attacks in Iraq on Tuesday, reported Agence-France Press, citing a total of 13 dead.

Reuters said at least 10 people were killed in mortar rounds fired at a Sunni mosque 50 miles northeast of the capital, in Muqdadiya. AFP said nine people were killed in the attack.

According to CNN, roadside bombs killed several more worshippers as they left morning prayers early Tuesday at another mosque south of Baghdad, violence believed to have killed at least four people. 

Sectarian violence has been on the rise in Iraq in recent months.
