SAINT JOHN, N.B. - The New Brunswick government has sold the Saint John Harbour Bridge building to Port Saint John for about $470,000.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Claude Williams says the sale will generate revenue for provincial coffers while the proximity of the building to the port will benefit the authority's operations.
The property includes a one-storey office building with a pair of two-bay garages.
The province took over ownership of the property in March 2011 after assuming responsibility for the Saint John Harbour Bridge.
The port authority expressed interest in acquiring the property in November 2012.
