TORC Oil and Gas Ltd. (TSX:TOG). Oil and gas. Up seven cents, or 4.38 per cent, at $1.67 on 9.06 million shares. The energy sector rose 0.78 per cent to 258.57 points as price of crude oil continued its six-day winning streak. The September contract was up 13 cents to US$107.46 a barrel.
Iamgold Corp. (TSX:IMG). Miner. Down 13 cents, or 1.95 per cent, at $6.53 on 5.03 million shares. The gold sector led all the losers on the main index, dropping 0.04 per cent to 206.96 points.
Goldcorp Inc. (TSX:G). Miner. Down 14 cents, or 0.43 per cent, at $32.09 on 4.98 million shares.
Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down 42 cents, or 2.06 per cent, at $20.01 on 4.98 million shares.
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 12 cents, or 1.92 per cent, at $6.13 on 4.85 million shares.
Toronto Venture Exchange (940.23 up 8.14 points):
Pinecrest Energy Inc. (TSXV:PRY). Oil and gas. Down 13 cents, or 21.31 per cent, at 48 cents on 6.07 million shares.
Solimar Energy Ltd. (TSXV:SXS). Oil and gas. Down half a cent, or 25 per cent, at 1.5 cents on 4.63 million shares.

BlackBerry (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Down 44 cents, or 3.89 per cent, at $10.86 on 2.95 million shares. Securities filings show chief executive Thorsten Heins stands to make as much as $55.6 million if the company is sold and he is ousted from the top job. BlackBerry announced earlier this week that it launched a review of "strategic alternatives," a move that could potentially result in the sale of the company to a strategic buyer that could see it taken private.
Chartwell Retirement Residences (TSX:CSH.UN). Seniors housing. Up 16 cents, or 1.74 per cent, at $9.33 on 241,814 shares. The Toronto-area company acquired the Ridgepointe at Pineview, a 109-suite retirement residence in Kamloops, B.C., for $21.5 million.
