TORONTO - A Toronto high school vice-principal has been charged after police allege he helped a student avoid arrest.

Police say the vice-principal knew a student named in outstanding arrest warrants was wanted by police.

They say he helped the young person leave Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute property Wednesday before police could make an arrest.

Investigators say the student was arrested later.

Police say Timothy Fisher, 49, of Aurora, Ont., was arrested Thursday and charged with obstructing a peace officer.

Fisher is due in court on Dec. 12.
