FREDERICTON - The New Brunswick legislature has adjourned until early in the new year when the government will deliver its operating and capital budgets for 2014-15.

The fall session saw the government pass 12 of the 16 bills it introduced including controversial pension reforms for civil servants.

Liberal Leader Brian Gallant accused the government of stifling debate on the pension legislation, but Premier David Alward says every Opposition member had an opportunity to speak on the bill.

The session also saw the introduction of a new catastrophic drug plan and a bill to create a registry for lobbyists.

The house resumes Feb. 4.
