LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Justin Bieber is stripping down. Musically, that is. The Canadian pop phenomenon showcases his vocal and song-writing talents with a new acoustic album, out on Tuesday, that also features three new tracks including a heartbreak ballad thought to be about his former girlfriend Selena Gomez.

Spain's Prado Museum gets biggest art donation in decades

MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's Prado museum received its biggest private donation in decades on Tuesday with the gift of 12 medieval and Renaissance works by Spanish artists. The paintings and sculptures include "The Virgin of Tobed", the central panel of the altarpiece of a church in northeastern Spain and an exceptional example of Catalan Italo-Gothic painting attributed to Jaume Serra.

UK show puts Schwitters "rubbish" art back in frame

LONDON (Reuters) - Sheep bones, nails, pegs, a scrubbing brush, a metal toy - all, according to avant garde German artist Kurt Schwitters, are on a par with paint, and all appear in collages and sculptures in a London show dedicated to his time in Britain in the 1940s. Schwitters remains a relatively obscure figure in his adopted country, where he fled Nazi Germany and remained until his death, aged 60, in 1948.

Oscar nod for protest film cheers Palestinians

RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) - Oscar-nominated documentary "5 Broken Cameras" screened for Palestinians for the first time on Monday, leaving locals hopeful that their struggle with Israel for land and statehood will gain a global audience. The low-cost film is based on five years of amateur camera work by journalist Emad Burnat as he documented weekly protests against land seizures by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in his village of Bil'in in the occupied West Bank.

Singer Frank Ocean wants Chris Brown charged over brawl

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rising R&B artist Frank Ocean wants fellow singer Chris Brown prosecuted following a brawl over a parking space at a Los Angeles-area recording studio, authorities said on Monday. Brown is serving five years probation for assaulting his on-and-off girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and risks having his probation revoked should charges be filed.

"Argo" boosts Oscar chances with two weekend award

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Iran hostage drama "Argo" won its second big award in two days on Sunday, boosting its chances of winning a best picture Oscar next month in a race that had been considered wide open. "Argo" won best cast ensemble, the top prize, at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, while Daniel Day-Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence took lead acting honors.

Irish band Boomtown Rats reunites for UK festival

LONDON (Reuters) - Irish band The Boomtown Rats, best known for No. 1 hits "Rat Trap" and "I Don't Like Mondays", will reunite for the first time since 1986 at the Isle of Wight Festival in June, organisers said in a statement on Monday. Active in the 1970s and 80s, the group led by charity campaigner Bob Geldof will take the main stage at the festival held off the south coast of England.

Rome Trevi Fountain, symbol of Dolce Vita, to get big facelift

ROME (Reuters) - Anita Ekberg, who famously waded in Rome's Trevi Fountain with Marcello Mastroianni in the 1960 classic film "La Dolce Vita", would probably say "It's about time, darling!" The fountain, arguably the world's most recognizable, is about to get the most thorough face-lift since it was completed in 1762 and the restoration was presented on Monday by a man who also uses the word darling a lot: fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Kardashian mom Kris Jenner gets television talk show

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian reality television family, is getting her own daytime TV talk show later this year, U.S. broadcast network Fox said on Monday. Jenner's show, which will be called "Kris," will begin a test run in the summer on Fox affiliates in Los Angeles, New York and other cities.
