Canada extends loan of Mali transport plane until mid-March

OTTAWA, Feb 14 (Reuters) - Canada will extend the loan of a C-17 military cargo plane to France's military operations against Islamist rebels in Mali until next month, Defence Minister Peter MacKay said on Thursday.

MacKay told reporters the plane - which flew its first mission in the Mali operation on Jan. 15 - would stay in theater until March 15. Canada says it has no plans to send troops to Mali. (Reporting by David Ljunggren; Editing by David Brunnstrom)
