HOUSTON (Reuters) - Players and coaches concede that Sunday's NBA All-Star game is a show for the fans yet when the game is on the line, action on the basketball court could become a little hostile. "The main object is fun ... the players want to show their talents and they want to play with each other. Certain players are never going to play with somebody else on the same team," said West coach Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs.

Del Potro on fire as he sets up final with Benneteau

Pistorius, slain girlfriend had planned future: uncle

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South African Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius, known as the "Blade Runner", was planning a future with the girlfriend he is accused of shooting dead this week, his uncle said on Saturday. Pistorius, 26, one of the world's most recognizable athletes, was charged on Friday with murdering swimsuit model and law graduate Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of the previous day.

U.S. winger Rogers comes out as gay and steps back from game

MIAMI (Reuters) - United States international Robbie Rogers has come out as gay and says he is stepping away from soccer. The 25-year-old, who recently played in England for Leeds United and Stevenage and has 18 caps for the U.S. team, wrote on his website - under the title "The Next Chapter" - that he had been afraid to raise the issue.
