MOSCOW, March 5 (Reuters) - Russia is ready to back a draft U.N. Security Council sanctions resolution on North Korea over its third nuclear test if it focuses solely on Pyongyang's nuclear and rocket programmes, a senior diplomat said on Tuesday.
"It will be acceptable to us if the restrictive measures (in the sanctions resolution) do not go beyond the boundaries of missile and nuclear issues linked to (North Korea)," Interfax news agency quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov as saying.
U.N. diplomats said on Monday the United States and China had struck a tentative deal on a draft U.N. Security Council sanctions resolution to punish North Korea over the test.
