Rookie OF/DH Wil Myers said nobody had intentionally walked the hitter ahead of him before Saturday. Myers hit his first career home run, a grand slam that gave Tampa Bay a 5-3 lead in the sixth. He was the first player whose first career home run was a grand slam at any version of Yankee Stadium since Detroit's Ricky Peters on May 27, 1980.
RHP Chris Archer will make his fifth start of the season and third on the road in Sunday's series finale against the Yankees. Archer is 0-5 with a 6.23 ERA in six road appearances (four starts) compared to a 2-1 record and 3.13 ERA at home.
RHP Brandon Gomes will continue his recovery from a right lat strain with a rehab appearance for Class A Port Charlotte on Monday. Gomes has been on the disabled list since May 10 and played catch before Friday's game.
RHP Alex Colome allowed three unearned runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings. He became the second Tampa Bay starter since 2007 to allow at least three runs in a game, with none of them being earned. The other instance occurred for James Shields on June 16, 2012, against the Marlins.
3B Evan Longoria continued showing his power with his seventh home run in the last 13 games. He also hit his 10th home run at the current Yankee Stadium, the most of any visiting player. His six home runs off CC Sabathia tie him with Alfonso Soriano for the most off the left-hander.
LHP David Price will make a second rehab start Wednesday for Class A Port Charlotte. He continued his recovery from a strained left triceps by throwing 49 pitches over 2 1/3 innings on Friday.
