Diamondbacks 5, Mets 3: Cody Ross belted a three-run homer and Randall Delgado struck out a career-high nine in seven innings as visiting Arizona snapped a season-high five-game losing streak.
Eric Chavez had an RBI double and Aaron Hill and Miguel Montero matched him with two hits apiece for the National League West-leading Diamondbacks, who overcame a 1-hour, 51-minute rain delay before finally solving Matt Harvey (7-2) in the sixth.
Ross erased the Diamondbacks' 2-0 deficit in the sixth by jumping on a 1-0 slider and depositing it over the left-field wall for his fifth homer - and second of the series. Chavez ended the evening for Harvey in the seventh with his run-scoring double to left before Montero provided insurance with a sacrifice fly.
The offense was more than enough for Delgado (1-2), who allowed two runs on seven hits to snap a personal nine-start winless streak. David Hernandez permitted Daniel Murphy's blast in the eighth inning before former Met Heath Bell closed the door in the ninth for his 15th save.
Josh Satin extended his hitting streak to nine games with his first career homer and David Wright also went deep for the Mets.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Wright opened the scoring in the fourth by belting a 3-2 changeup from Delgado over the wall in left field for his 13th homer. Satin came up two batters later and - after fouling off three straight full-count pitches - launched a fastball into the left-field seats to double the advantage. ... Harvey yielded five runs on nine hits in six innings to take the loss. ... Arizona placed INF Willie Bloomquist on the disabled list with a hand injury and recalled OF Tony Campana from Triple-A Reno. Campana batted in the leadoff position and went 0-for-4 with a run scored.
