RHP Jeremy Hellickson has pitched to a 3.33 ERA and struck out 44 batters with just seven walks in his last eight starts (48 2/3 innings). The home run he allowed to Pedro Florimon in a 4-3 win over the Twins on Wednesday at Tropicana Field was just the third he had allowed in those eight starts.

LHP Matt Moore (12-3, 3.42) is expected to make his 19th start of the season on Thursday when the Rays conclude a four-game series against Minnesota at Tropicana Field. He is one of only five major-leaguers with at least 12 wins. He looks to become the first pitcher since Rick Mahler (1985) to win 13 games before the All-Star break without being chosen for the game. Moore has faced Minnesota just once, earning no decision.

3B Evan Longoria stole his first base of the season on Wednesday in a 4-3 win over the Minnesota Twins at Tropicana Field. It was his first steal attempt since being caught on April 30, 2012, when he injured his left hamstring and missed 85 games on the disabled list.

SS Yunel Escobar ranks among the majors' top shortstops in batting average (.289, sixth), OBP (.352, fourth), RBI (30, third), runs (29, third) and walks (20, T-second) since May 11. He batted .175/.227/.291 before May 11.
