Seattle Mariners - PlayerWatch

2B Nick Franklin hit his first career grand slam in Sunday's win over the Astros. Franklin's grand slam was the fifth hit by the Mariners this season and first since Henry Blanco hit one June 15 at Oakland. Franklin is the second Seattle player this year to hit their first career grand slam, joining Dustin Ackley, who hit his first career slam May 4 at Toronto.

CF Dustin Ackley tied a season high with three hits Sunday against the Astros, driving in two runs. Seattle improved to 10-3 this season when Ackley starts in center field.

RHP Aaron Harang will make his 11th career start Monday against the Indians. Harang, who is 4-2 with a 2.95 ERA career against the Indians, has not faced them since June 25, 2010, when he was with the Reds.

RHP Felix Hernandez has won six straight starts and has not lost since dropping a 5-2 decision to Texas on May 25. Hernandez has allowed more than two runs twice in his last 10 starts and has allowed no runs three times in his last seven starts following Sunday's six scoreless innings against Houston. Hernandez has not given up a run in his last two starts.

C Henry Blanco plated a run in the second Sunday when he was hit by a pitch but went 0-for-4 in his first start since July 10 against Boston as C Mike Zunino was given a day of rest. Zunino had started six straight and 11 of the last 12 games at catcher.
