RHP Corey Kluber is working on a scoreless streak of 12 2/3 innings, with his last run allowed coming in a July 7 start against Detroit. He pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings in a 3-0 win over the Royals then added five more innings of shutout ball in a 3-2 loss at Minnesota over the weekend. Kluber is scheduled to start against Texas after the off day Thursday.

C Carlos Santana hadn't driven in a run in his last five games played heading into Wednesday's game against Seattle, and then he had an RBI on each of his first two at-bats. Santana doubled in a run in the first inning, then added another RBI double in the third.

LHP Scott Kazmir gave up just one hit over eight innings Wednesday, but a second-inning error prevented him from getting a chance at a shutout. Seattle scored its only run of the game, an unearned one, in the second and didn't get a hit off Kazmir until the fifth.

CF Michael Bourn hit his first career grand slam Wednesday, when he slammed a 3-2 pitch over the center field fence to give Cleveland an 8-1 lead in the fifth inning. Bourn started the game with a bunt single and went 2-for-4, scoring twice while driving in the four runs.

SS Asdrubal Cabrera closed a solid series in Seattle by going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and four runs scored Wednesday. He went 4-for-11 against the Mariners since being moved to the No. 4 spot in the batting order after starting the road trip 2-for-10.
