RHP Wily Peralta has been one of Milwaukee's best pitchers of late, going 3-1 with an 0.87 ERA in his last six starts. He'll try to keep that going Friday when the Brewers open a three-game series against the Rockies at Coors Field. This will be Peralta's third career appearance against the Rockies (0-1, 7.11) and his second start. Peralta took the loss earlier this season after allowing four runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings of Milwaukee's 7-3 loss to Colorado on April 3.
SS Jean Segura hit No. 3 in the lineup for the fifth consecutive game and went 0-for-5. Since moving down one spot in the order, Segura is 2-for-21 with one extra-base hit and two RBI. Hitless in his last three games, Segura's average has dropped to .313, a season-low.
INF Sean Halton was optioned to Triple-A Nashville after Milwaukee's 10-8 loss to San Diego. Halton appeared in 19 games and started 11 with the Brewers, who selected his contract on June 27. After batting .288 with nine home runs and 35 RBI in Nashville, Halton hit .200 with a home run and two RBI while with the Brewers.
RHP Rob Wooten will join the Brewers on Friday after the team selected his contract from Triple-A Nashville, where he went 0-1 with a 2.94 ERA and 20 saves in 40 games. Wooten pitched in seven spring training games for Milwaukee and allowed five runs (three earned) in 6 1/3 innings. He will be the ninth Brewers player to make his major league debut this season.
INF Yuniesky Betancourt went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs Thursday in the Brewers' 10-8 loss to San Diego. Betancourt began the day with just 12 hits since June 1 and was batting a season-low .198. The four hits tied a career high and marked his 10th multi-hit game of the season.
