RHP Yu Darvish gave up three runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out six in Tuesday's victory over the Angels. Darvish improved to 11-5 on the season, including 3-0 against the Angels this year. "Of course he didn't have his best stuff, but he found a way to make pitches when he had to," Rangers manager Ron Washington said.

LHP Neil Cotts has thrown 12 consecutive scoreless innings over his last 11 appearances, striking out 12 batters. Opposing batters are hitting .105 (4-for-38) against him in his last 10 games, and his 0.76 ERA is third best among all major league relievers.

RHP Colby Lewis, out all season trying to recover from Tommy John surgery performed in July of 2012, will have surgery on his right hip to remove bone spurs. He will miss the rest of the season and will become a free agent at the end of the season, but says he'd like to re-sign with the Rangers.

3B Adrian Beltre had a wisdom tooth removed during the day on Monday and hit a home run on Monday night against the Angels. Beltre's 10 home runs since July 4 lead the majors and his 23 RBIs are tied for the major league lead.

RHP Alexi Ogando will start Wednesday's game against the Angels. Ogando is 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA in 21 career games (four starts) against the Angels. In three starts since returning from the disabled list (right biceps tendinitis), he is 0-1 with a 4.61 ERA and has failed to last more than five innings in any of the starts.
