RHP Zach McAllister will start Thursday vs. Detroit. In one start vs. the Tigers this year McAllister has a 3.00 ERA and no decision. In four career appearances vs. the Tigers he is 0-0 with a 2.28 ERA.

RHP Danny Salazar, in his second major league start, struck out Tigers' 3B Miguel Cabrera in each of Cabrera's first three at-bats. Salazar is the only starting pitcher in the majors this season to strikeout Cabrera three times in a game. Cabrera got the best of him in his fourth at-bat, however, stroking a two-run homer that tied the game. Salazar's 17 strikeouts in his first two major league starts are the most by an Indians pitcher since Luis Tiant struck out 17 in his first two career starts in July of 1964.

RHP Matt Langwell was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday in order to clear a roster spot for RHP Danny Salazar, who was recalled from Columbus and started Wednesday night. Langwell spent less than 24 hours with the Indians. He was recalled from Columbus Tuesday when RHP Corey Kluber was placed on the disabled list. Langwell arrived at the ballpark in the seventh inning, then was optioned back to Columbus before Wednesday's game began.

OF Ryan Raburn signed a two-year $4.85 million contract extension with the Indians on Wednesday that runs through the 2015 season with a club option for 2016. Despite not being an everyday player, Raburn is third on the Indians with 15 home runs.

SS Asdrubal Cabrera, who is hitting in the cleanup spot in the order, was 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position Wednesday. For the season, Cabrera is hitting .204 (19-93) with runners in scoring position.
