RHP Danny Salazar will start Monday night vs. Minnesota. It will be Salazar's third major league start. In his first starts, Salazar has 17 strikeouts and two walks in 13 2/3 innings.

DH Jason Giambi was 0-for-4 Sunday and is now hitting .059 (1-17) in the month of August. Giambi, however, is still one of the Indians' better hitters with runners in scoring position, hitting .297 in those situations.

SS Asdrubal Cabrera was ejected from Sunday's 6-5 win against the Angels after his first at-bat, which ended in a swinging strikeout. Cabrera took issue after the strikeout of a called second strike by home plate umpire Vic Carapazza, which is what led to his ejection.

RHP Justin Masterson was removed from Sunday's game after giving up five runs on seven hits and four walks in 4 1/3 innings. That's his shortest outing in 25 starts this season. "My ball was moving, but my control wasn't the best," he said.

INF Mike Aviles, wasn't in the starting lineup in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Angels, but entered the game after the second inning, replacing SS Asdrubal Cabrera, who was ejected. It was a change that impacted the game when Aviles, in the sixth inning, belted his seventh home run of the season.
