LHP Martin Perez logged his first career complete game, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with a career-high eight strikeouts. Perez is the first Texas pitcher to toss a complete game since LHP Derek Holland shut out the New York Yankees on June 27, and is the first Texas pitcher to post a complete game within his first 17 career starts since Matt Harrison notched a shutout on Sept. 12, 2008 in his 13th start at Oakland.

SS Jurickson Profar had his career-best seven-game hitting streak snapped on Saturday but broke the game open on Sunday with his two-out, two-run single off Houston LHP Dallas Keuchel in the ninth inning. Profar now has eight RBIs in his last seven games, and he made his ninth start of the season at shortstop.

RHP Yu Darvish is scheduled to make his fourth start of the season against the Astros in the finale of a four-game series in Houston. Darvish is 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA this season against the Astros, a record that includes his losing a perfect game with two outs in the ninth inning on April 2. Darvish is 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA in four career starts against Houston. He is 3-1 with a 1.37 ERA in four starts since coming off the disabled list on July 22, recording 35 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings.

RF Alex Rios extended his hitting streak to 11 games with his 2-for-4 performance and his batting .359 (14-for-40) during that stretch. It was his second multi-hit game during the streak, and Rios is 4-for-7 with two RBIs and three runs scored in two games since joining the Rangers.

C Geovany Soto finished 1-for-4 with an RBI double, marking the ninth time in 10 games he has recorded a hit. Soto has five extra-base hits and six RBIs during that stretch to improve his batting average from .178 to .216. He has reached base safely in 17 of his last 40 plate appearances.
