RHP Tom Koehler was outstanding Friday in a no-decision against the Rockies in the opener of a three-game series. In seven innings, he allowed six hits, two walks and one run. In his only previous start against the Rockies, Koehler won 3-1 at Colorado on July 22.

RHP Jose Fernandez will start Saturday's middle game of a three-game series against the Rockies. The rookie beat the Rockies earlier this season, allowing two runs in seven innings. For the season, he is second in the majors in opponents' batting average (.189). His 2.41 ERA is third in the majors.

3B Placido Polanco (concussion) is feeling better but has yet to resume baseball activities.

1B Logan Morrison entered the weekend with a .357 on-base percentage, which ranks fifth among National League first basemen. He went 0-for-3 Friday against the Rockies, but drew one walk.

RF Giancarlo Stanton had his nine-game hitting streak snapped Friday against the Rockies. He went 0-for-2 but drew two walks as the Rockies pitched around him.
