C Derek Norris was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Aug. 21 with a broken left big toe. He was injured in the top of the eighth inning Tuesday night during a defensive play at the plate against the Mariners. Norris was batting .232 with eight home runs and 26 RBI in 84 games. He was hitting .345 with nine walks and a .446 on-base percentage since July 1.

RHP Sonny Gray (1-1, 1.44) makes his sixth appearance and fourth start Sunday against Baltimore. He was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento Aug. 10 for his second stint with the A's and is 1-1 with a 1.71 ERA in three starts since his return, allowing four hits of fewer in each start. He has not faced the Orioles.

C Kurt Suzuki, playing his first game since being traded from Washington back to his former team on Friday, made his presence felt in Saturday's 2-1 win over Baltimore. He went 1-for-3, doubling with one out in the sixth inning and scoring the tying run on Jed Lowrie's double.

"You could tell very early on that Parker was carrying really good stuff and that runs were going to be at a premium," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. During his last 16 starts opponents are hitting .202 (78-for-386).
