1B Paul Goldschmidt's hitless night Monday vs. the Dodgers isn't an indicator of past performance against Los Angeles. This season, he is 19-of-52 (.365) with four home runs and 14 RBIs against the Dodgers.

SS Didi Gregorius provided the sole excitement for the Diamondbacks on Monday when he doubled home a run against RHP Ricky Nolasco, against whom he is now 6-for-9 lifetime. Gregorius is fighting for September playing time with call-up Chris Owings.

INF Cliff Pennington and his wife welcomed a baby Monday morning. Pennington did not play in Monday night's game at Los Angeles.

UT Martin Prado, who singled in the second inning Monday, has hit safely in 21 of his past 25 games. His hot streak is an extension of his spectacular August in which he was named NL Player of the Month.

RHP Trevor Cahill, in his Tuesday start, will look to continue his hot streak on the road and against the Dodgers. In his last four road games, he is 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA. In two starts versus the Dodgers this season, he is 1-0 with a 1.26 ERA, and in eight career starts against them, he is 5-0 with a 2.10 ERA.
