LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu has been great in the second half, but he takes the mound Wednesday looking to rebound from a missed start. Ryu, who leads all rookies with 13 wins, missed his last start with back stiffness after a one-run, 6 1/3-inning performance in a win over San Diego. Ryu has struggled against the Diamondbacks this year, amassing a 5.82 ERA.

1B Adrian Gonzalez banged three hits against Arizona -- his 13th game this year with three or more hits. Gonzalez has hit in four straight games, posting a .588 batting average in that span.

CF Andre Ethier continued his career success against his hometown Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Ethier tied the game at 3-3 with an RBI double in the fifth inning as he extended his hitting streak to 10 games against Arizona.

RHP Edinson Volquez picked up his first quality start since Aug. 2 despite getting a no-decision in the Dodgers' win over Arizona on Tuesday. Volquez allowed three runs on four hits in six innings to lower his ERA to 5.73 as a Dodger in two starts.

OF Matt Kemp is expected to be able to return this season, despite the fact that he was once more shut down from his rehab last week due to hamstring tightness. Kemp, out since July 22, originally because of a left ankle sprain, is currently relegated to batting in simulated games at the team's training facility in Arizona.
