Wild 2, Jets 1: Matt Cooke scored midway through the second period and added an assist as host Minnesota secured its first victory of the season.

Defenseman Jonas Brodin tallied in the first period and Josh Harding turned aside 14 shots as the Wild snapped a four-game winless skid against the current Jets' franchise.

Bryan Little scored on a 5-on-3 power play late in the first period to extend his point streak to four games. Ondrej Pavelec finished with 28 saves for Winnipeg, which was outshot 30-15 and lost 45 of 61 faceoffs.

With the game tied at 1-1, Pavelec lost his stick while denying Torrey Mitchell on his initial shot. The netminder unsuccessfully attempted to cover the puck but Cooke stuffed it home from the doorstep at 10:30 of the middle session for his 23rd career game-winning goal.

Minnesota opened the scoring at 7:39 of the first period after Brodin redirected the rebound of Cooke's shot past Pavelec for his second goal of the season. Little countered with 43 seconds remaining in the session after he deflected defenseman Tobias Enstrom's point shot between the pads of Harding.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Winnipeg RW Devin Setoguchi was held without a shot and finished minus-2 in his first game against his former team since being traded in July for a 2014 second-round pick. ... Brodin also scored two goals last season - albeit in 45 games. ... Enstrom has collected at least one assist in all four games in 2013-14. He has five on the season.
