Senators 2, Predators 1 (SO): Mika Zibanejad and captain Jason Spezza scored in the shootout as visiting Ottawa improved to 5-0-1 in its last six games.
After Craig Smith misfired with a backhander to open the bonus format, Zibanejad sailed a wrist shot over the blocker of rookie Marek Mazanec. Veteran David Legwand was denied by a glove save from Craig Anderson before Spezza's wrist shot trickled between the pads of Mazanec and just crossed the goal line to end the contest.
Kyle Turris scored for the second straight contest and Anderson turned aside 32 shots for the Senators, who posted just their second win in their last seven road games (2-3-2).
Mike Fisher tallied against his former team and Mazanec finished with 20 saves for the Predators, who fell to 0-5 in shootouts this season.
A fortunate bounce helped open the scoring as Nashville's Mattias Ekholm attempted to bank the puck off the boards to fellow defenseman Kevin Klein. The puck caromed out to an unmarked Turris, who wristed a shot from the right doorstep into the gaping net at 6:23 of the second period. Nashville answered 10 1/2 minutes later as Fisher spotted a loose puck following the blocked shot of defenseman Ryan Ellis and fired his bid behind Anderson.
